Who We Are

Our Story

Mission & History

Our Mission is to optimize health, promote longevity, and improve the quality of life of those facing chronic diseases, especially cancer; and to provide a comprehensive, cost-effective approach toward the transformation of healthcare for individuals and institutions.

The renowned work of Mederi Center’s Founder and President, Donnie Yance, began in the early 1990s in his home state of Connecticut. By 1992, he had earned a reputation for his pioneering approach to wholistic healthcare and became widely respected for his expert guidance through his former clinic, the Center for Natural Healing. In 1999, Donnie established a bi-coastal practice in Ashland, where his clinical work continued to evolve through years of caring for thousands of patients with cancer, chronic illness, and complex health conditions. Through this work, he developed the Mederi Care model — a deeply integrative system of healing that now serves as the foundation of Mederi Center’s clinical program.

As a Secular Franciscan, service and compassionate care have always been central to Donnie’s mission. In 2005, he and his wife, Jennifer, founded the Mederi Foundation (doing business as Mederi Center) as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Soon thereafter, the clinic program was brought under the umbrella of the nonprofit, expanding the organization’s mission to include clinical care, research, practitioner education, and the establishment of a Scientific Advisory Board.

Today, Mederi Center stands as a nonprofit clinic and educational organization based in Ashland, Oregon, dedicated to fostering health, resilience, and quality of life for people of all ages. We specialize in supporting individuals with cancer, chronic illness, complex conditions, and age-related health concerns.

Through both our clinical services and our practitioner education programs, we practice and teach the internationally recognized Mederi Care model — a unitive, integrative approach that combines modern science, clinical research, and evidence-informed medicine with dietary, botanical, nutritional, and lifestyle therapeutics to support individualized care and improved patient outcomes.

Mederi Center has also collaborated with healthcare providers and medical institutions throughout the United States and internationally, including The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Children's Hospital of Orange County, Medical University of South Carolina, Huntington Hospital, Huntington Medical Research Institutes, and Rabin Medical Center, among others.
